Alice was raised for most of her life in Woking, <a href="http://wiki.philipphudek.de/index.php?title=Benutzer:GeraldoAngel49">zookeeper</a>; Surrey.
Her love of comedy during her youth led her to attend acting classes at Italia Conti and the Guildford School
of Acting, and writing the school plays as she got older.
<img alt="" />Alice's dream was to be a <a href="https://www.keeperexchange.org/jobs-listing">performer</a>; and write comedy, but another <a href="https://biaza.org.uk/our-partners">ambition</a>; was fulfilled when she began volunteering at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in 2011, while <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/keeper-educational-exchange-programme_keep-placement-success-holly-from-sealife-activity-7271609694186573824-iVSq">attending University</a>.
From then on, Alice was captivated by animal care and worked to pursue that career instead.
Alice started her career in Zookeeping in 2014 at ZSL London <a href="https://wildenrichment.podbean.com/e/ep-40-collaborating-for-better-human-and-animal-wellbeing-with-alice-vassalo/">Zoo</a>; where she was involved with 3 different animal departments.
In 2015, she departed from the <a href="https://www.keeperexchange.org/getting-started">Zoo</a>; life to run a Children's Farm
in <a href="https://www.keeperexchange.org/other-opportunities">North London</a>
but after a few years, chose to go back to exotic animals, <a href="https://cats.wiki/User:AlisonMcGoldrick">zookeeper</a>; moving to Costa Rica for 7 months to research Toucans and assist in Sloth research.

back to England, she returned to Zookeeping, and became a Carnivore Keeper at Shepreth Wildlife
Park, where she stayed for nearly 5 years.

KEEP), a non-profit organisation that allows Zookeepers from
across the UK and <a href="https://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/view_profile.php?userid=763197">zookeeper</a>;
beyond to gain knowledge from each other through spending time at other collections.
She has spoken about the programme at the ABWAK Symposium and the BIAZA Annual
Conference and the organisation is proud to be BIAZA Endorsed
and sponsored by Birdworld, in Surrey.
In 2023, <a href="https://castbox.fm/episode/Ep.-40--Collaborating-for-Better-Human-and-Animal-Wellbeing-with-Alice-Vassalo-id2679202-id584871351?country=us">searching</a>; for a creative outlet,
Alice created the <a href="https://www.alicevassallo.co.uk/keep">animal-comedy</a>; podcast: "Asshole Animals with Alice", that explores animal behaviour in a humorous fashion,
with the help of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/ZooKEEPX/">experts</a>; across the world.
In the <a href="https://www.keeperexchange.org/employer-listing">initial</a>; months of her podcast, she was joined by <a href="https://www.keeperexchange.org/get-involved">nature creatives</a> such as
Chris Packham, Megan McCubbin, Lucy Lapwing, Jungle Jordan, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/alice-vassallo-457275345_a-fantastic-opportunity-for-those-wanting-activity-7284280270365589504-fqtD">Bertie Gregory</a> and hopes to continue talking to hilarious experts about <a href="https://biaza.org.uk/news/detail/blog-trials-of-a-keeper-educational-exchange-programme">animals</a>; with a <a href="https://www.keeperexchange.org/get-involved">bad reputation</a>.
